Supporting Wilmington Area Non-Profits

A Message From The President

Year End Report 2016

Despite having to cancel our annual Legends of Tennis fundraiser due to construction at the sports center, the Landfall Foundation prevailed in its mission to help the underserved in the greater Wilmington community in 2016. In an effort to replace revenue lost from the Legends tournament, we sent out a letter with inviting enticements to encourage year-end contributions to help us make this a financially successful year. A copy of the letter is available on our website. Please consider a gift to the foundation in your holiday giving.

We anticipate that 2017 will continue to be a challenge to our fundraising efforts as construction on the Landfall Clubhouse may affect some of our events.

We completed our most successful and beautiful Art Show in August. Thank you to board member Martha Edgerton and the many people who helped with this project. We are grateful to Landfall Realty as our first corporate sponsor.

October 17th was our first Landfall Foundation Golf Tournament. Open to the country club's golf members, the day was fun-filled with prizes and a dinner to celebrate winners and all players. Thank you to Bill Bell who chaired this event.

The best day of the year for the Landfall Foundation was the Grants Presentation, November 3rd, at the Landfall Clubhouse. $351,500 was distributed to 88 non-profits in our community. Karen Gibson and Ginger Wilson, grants committee co-chairs, had the honor of handing out checks.

Our fundraising efforts for the year conclude with the Holiday Marketplace on Tuesday, December 6th, at the Landfall Clubhouse. Local vendors have clamored to get a spot at this fun, holiday shopping opportunity. Jessica Schreiber and Cindy Worden are once again the co-chairs of this event.

Please take the time to read recaps of the 2016 foundation events and review our schedule of events for 2017. The most significant content, however, highlights several organizations that receive funding from the Landfall Foundation. Our grants allow us to fulfill our mission to the Wilmington community. Learn what these organizations are doing with their grants and how they are changing people's lives.

Please check out our website or visit our Facebook page for updates on upcoming events and how you might become involved. With your help, the best is yet to be.
